Education:

  • B.S., Communication Sciences and Disorders, 2015, Appalachian State University (Boone, NC)
  • M.S., Speech-Language Pathology, 2018, Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH)

Experience:

I have worked for about 7 years in the outpatient pediatric setting, most recently working for a Children’s Hospital in Wisconsin. I have supervised and mentored students for clinical placements and for completing clinical fellowships.

Hobbies:

Aerial arts (silk, hammock, trapeze and lyra), baking, spending time with my dogs, music and traveling

Research: My research interests include language disorders, literacy development, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and integrating various areas of speech and language disorders within our field and collaborating with other fields. I am interested in how children who use AAC develop literacy skills and move beyond basic communication of expressing wants and needs and move to communicating more complex ideas and thoughts. I would love to eventually expand the AAC research for bilingual and multilingual children, including development of language and literacy skills.
